Charleston was founded in 1670 by King Charles II of England who was popularly known as the Merry Monarch. The Krewe of Charles II combines the merriment of it's founder with the rich heritage of Charleston, SC.
The traditional Carnival celebrations beginning after the Epiphany and culminating on the day before Ash Wednesday. The Krewe of Charles II has events throughout the year whether it's supporting local charities or just for fun!
